  • Assist pharmacists in medication preparation, packaging, and labeling.
  • Answer and triage phone calls.
  • Process medication charges and credits.
  • Maintain inventory in dispensing areas.
  • Demonstrate basic proficiency in pharmacy computer systems.
  • Perform pharmacy and medication unit inspections.
  • Deliver medication to patient care areas in the hospital.
  • Fulfill prescriptions in the outpatient pharmacy.
  • Obtain and document accurate patient medication histories.

Qualifications

  • Registered Pharmacy Tech-NC and National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) required.
  • Six months of healthcare experience OR ASHP accredited pharmacy technology diploma program.
  • Demonstrates standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Combination of education, experience and qualifications required.
