JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas in accordance with established practices and procedures.
  • Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures, and addresses patient concerns.
  • Performs routine body, head, spine, extremity, vascular CT on a variety of CT scanners.
  • Using computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients' internal organs and tissues.
  • Appropriately positioning patients to scan specific areas of their bodies.
  • Performing regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong the life of the X-ray tubes.
  • Sterilizing radiologic equipment to ensure the safety of patients.
  • Correctly interpreting doctors' written scanning instructions.
  • Administering radiocontrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Completion of a fully accredited Radiology/CT Tech program
  • Minimum two years Computed Tomography Technologist experience
  • Active unencumbered RI Computed Tomography Tech state license
  • ARRT CT Certification

  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.

  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
