Job Title: Dental Hygienist Job Description: Knox Public Health is currently seeking enthusiastic individual to join our team as Dental Hygienist. If you have a passion for helping others and are interested in pursuing a career in the dental field, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Responsibilities: • Perform adult and child prophylaxis, including cleaning deposits and stains from teeth below the gumline • Place sealants • Take digital x-rays • Assist patients in feeling comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment • Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, nutritional counseling) • Enter and maintain patient information using the agency's electronic dental record system • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and supervisors to ensure an informed atmosphere • Maintain supplies and cleanliness at all times • Adhere to office policies and procedures protocols • Provide assistance in other areas of the dental clinic when needed • Provides community outreach services when needed • Meets all job and safety requirements applicable to OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions and is bonded • Completes continuing education sessions, as required • Attends staff meetings and training sessions as required • Maintains proper licensure and/or certificates • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. •Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced dental professionals. • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
