We are a vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm looking to add a paralegal to assist and support our Insurance Defense Group in Brooklyn. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a paralegal.

Paralegal Requirements

  • Experience with Motion, Arbitration, and EBT calendar.
  • Experience with drafting legal documents, such as summon(es) and complaint(s), notice(s) of inquest, notice(s) of discontinuance, discovery demands, and responses, notice(s) of trial, searching of DMV records, and process service.
  • Experience with filing court documents, including e-filing.
  • Experience tracking court dates and deadlines.
  • Must be extremely organized and able to maintain a high case volume.
  • Excellent communication skills and a polished presentation are also needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
  • At least 5 years of experience.
  • Paralegal Certificate is preferred.
  • Excellent client services and problem-solving skills; insurance defense experience litigation a plus.
  • Proactive and anticipatory.
  • Solid knowledge of computers and software applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to think clearly and work well under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of staff within the office.
  • Understanding of Commercial and Personal Lines Auto Property Damage Claims process and regulations.
  • Understanding of basic legal and claims terminology.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assignments.
