Northpointe is a Community Mental Health (CMH) organization providing services to individuals with serious mental illness, emotional disturbance, substance abuse disorders, and intellectual/developmental disabilities across Iron, Dickinson, and Menominee counties in the UP of Michigan. Northpointe itself was established in 1995 but has roots as a CMH dating back to 1964. Our presence can be found through remote emergency services, in school and home-based programs, and in clinical and residential home settings.
Job Purpose
We are looking for a passionate, driven individual to join our team as a Behavioral Technician (BT) within our Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) department serving Iron, Menominee, and Dickinson counties. This role is offered on a full-time, hourly basis and based at our offices in Menominee, MI.
The Behavior Technician (BT) provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to individuals with Autism and/or other behavior-related conditions. The behavioral intervention is provided at an appropriate level of intensity in an appropriate setting(s) for an appropriate period of time depending on the needs of the individual and their family within their community. ABA services are provided to increase developmentally appropriate skills to facilitate an individual's independence and are provided under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BORA) or other appropriately qualified professional.

Essential Duties
- Works under the supervision of a BCBA, LP, LLP or CMHP overseeing the ABA plan; must receive one hour of supervision for every ten hours of direct treatment.
- Provides direct client care utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
- Follows the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
- Collects, records, and summarizes data on observable behavior.
- Assists with parent and caregiver training in line with individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
- Effectively communicates with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the supervising professional.
- Utilizes safe & appropriate handing procedures when working with the individuals.
- Assists supervising professional in preparing ABA materials as instructed.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
- Safely transports and accompanies individuals according to the individual plan of service including assisting passengers to enter and leave vehicles, using proper loading and unloading procedures, and ensuring seat belt use by passengers.
- Maintains a safe driving record.
- Advocates and ensures that the rights of each individual are protected.
Requirements
Education, Certifications, and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (0 ED) required.
- Minimum of three months related experience and/or training is preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Within 180 days of hire -will receive 40-hour 9CBA Registered Behavior Technician (RBI) training conducted by a professional experienced in BHT (BCBA, BCaBA, LP, LLP and/or QBHP) services.
Salary Description
$15.89 to $22.40 per hour
