About the Role

The Assistant Controller will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, with a strong focus on people management and collaboration. This includes managing the teams responsible for accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), customer invoicing, and payroll processes. Additionally, the Assistant Controller will work closely with the current controller, ensuring a seamless transition and continuous improvement in financial practices.

Responsibilities

-Work with the current Controller to Lead and manage the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Invoicing, and Payroll teams, ensuring efficient and accurate operations.

-Ensure accuracy and timeliness in the financial reporting process.

-Mentor and develop accounting staff, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.

-Collaborate closely with the current controller to align on financial strategies, processes, and goals.

-Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.

-Work with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

-CPA or CMA certification is preferred.

-Experience with Vista Construction Accounting Software preferred.

-Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction or contracting industry.

-Strong leadership and team management skills.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

-Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

-High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
