What's the job?

We are currently recruiting an Automation Technician for 2nd shift who will maintain production times running with minimum downtime. Perform changeovers, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance on automation equipment along with troubleshooting automation related issues.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of PLC and robotics equipment
  • Consistently maintain company safety and cleanliness standards in the production environment
  • Develop and install secondary finishing equipment for blow molded components
  • Carry out electrical and/or mechanical repairs and inspections as required to ensure equipment runs reliably in production
  • Perform set-up and change overs of robotic equipment for production needs
  • Programming and maintenance of PLC equipment and programs including Siemens (S5 & S7), Omron, and Allan Bradley
  • Robotics maintenance and programming for ABB robots
  • Assist maintenance personnel with plant maintenance as needed
  • Liaise with outside contractors as necessary
  • Develop and assist in developing new secondary finishing equipment.
  • Carry out repair and preventative maintenance activities for PLCs and robotic applications minimizing production downtime.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Certification or degree in robot programming, automation and/or mechatronics is a plus
  • Must have basic mechanical skills and understanding of how equipment works
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge and experience with robotics is a plus
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Strong communication skills
