Position Summary

Performs all diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations that create the images needed for diagnosis; and integrates scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information.

Primary Position Responsibilities

1.Performs all cardiac ultrasound including patient positioning, machine set-up, image acquisition, measurements, and post-processing.

2.Follow all National Patient Safety Goals.

3.Provide recordkeeping of patient history and symptoms.

4.Review orders, explain procedure, answer questions and provide a high level of patient satisfaction.

5.Assist physician in the performance of stress echocardiography procedures.

6.Maintains cleanliness of department and assures adequate supply inventory.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Required:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and Graduate of an Accredited School of Echocardiography

Preferred:

Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Related Field of Study

Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):

Required:

None

Preferred:

Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience

License, Registry or Certification:

Required:

Registered Cardiac Specialist Credential or registry-eligible.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

Required:

Good communication and customer service skills. Excellent skills in cardiac anatomy and physiology and thorough knowledge of Echocardiograph equipment.
