This role is in the DroneShield Sydney headquarters in Pyrmont, Sydney. There are approximately 200 staff based in the 4,000sqm facility today, scheduled to grow to approximately 300 staff by end of 2026. Overseas on the ground presence includes Virginia (USA), Denmark, Germany and Dubai, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.

About the role

DroneShield is seeking an IT Engineer with relevant experience to join the operations team in Warrenton, Virginia.

This position will report to the Program Manager and represents an exceptional opportunity for a result-driven individual in a new niche but exploding market. This role is primarily focused on maintaining, expanding, and implementing new IT systems for the DroneShield U.S. office, to include resolving team member technical issues. There is a high degree of autonomy and growth potential for this role within the organization.

Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations

  • Maintain and elevate the performance of pivotal IT systems and infrastructure
  • Implement IT infrastructure and services required for company operations
  • Administer Microsoft Office 365 domain and all other shared resources for U.S team
  • Implement and administer office network to include maintaining adequate remote VPN solutions and enabling access to company resources
  • Exercise security best practices across IT systems
  • Identify opportunities for ongoing improvements to processes and systems
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
  • BS degree in relevant technical discipline and 5 years of experience in IT or equivalent combination of education and practical experience
  • Previous experience designing and administering small office networks
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
  • Ability to provision and manage all company IT devices and infrastructure
  • Preference for CCNA, Sec+, or other relevant certifcations
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment to accomplish customer deliveries and collaborating with a team
