SUMMARY

This job entails the classification defined below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs all duties assigned in the packaging section involving the packaging of product, including packing cases or caddies, gathering, mixing, and feeding packaging equipment with product, marking cases or cartons, inspection of product, and assembly of cartons or cases.

Employee will be required to perform unassisted, constant and repetitive lifting of materials weighing

25 lbs. - 50 lbs.

Must be able to read and write in English.

Inherent in each position is a general duty to maintain each respective work area in a safe and sanitary condition. The employee may be required to perform other such duties within the scope of their employment as may be assigned. Regular, predictable, full-time attendance is required as an essential function of this position. Wages, hours, and working conditions are outlined in a Collective Bargaining Agreement between Jelly Belly Candy Company and Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers & Grainmillers International Union, AFL-CIO, Local #125. Overtime as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement is mandatory. An essential function of this job is a requirement to work all hours scheduled.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities exist in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Less than high school education; or three (3) to six (6) months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers in English. Ability to write and speak simple sentences in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

The employee may be required to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. The employee must seek assistance on all lifting of over 50 pounds.
