Essential Job Functions (Include but are not limited to)

  • Technical Leadership:
    • Lead a team of backend developers , providing mentorship, guidance, and technical expertise.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
    • Drive the adoption of best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles within the backend team.
  • Architecture and Design:
    • Architect scalable and resilient backend systems that meet the performance and reliability requirements of our products.
    • Design robust APIs, data models, and database schemas to support frontend applications and integrations with third-party systems.
    • Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and tools to optimize backend development processes and improve system architecture.
  • Development and Implementation:
    • Lead by example by actively contributing to the development of backend features, services, and APIs.
    • Ensure the implementation of efficient algorithms, data structures, and design patterns to optimize system performance and resource utilization.
    • Collaborate with DevOps engineers to deploy and manage backend services in production environments.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing:
    • Establish and enforce quality assurance processes, including code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing.
    • Identify and address technical debt, code smells, and performance bottlenecks through refactoring and optimization.
    • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms to proactively identify and mitigate production issues.
  • Team Collaboration and Communication:
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the backend development team.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including product managers, frontend developers, and QA engineers, to align on project goals and priorities.
    • Provide regular updates on project status, technical challenges, and mitigation strategies to senior management.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of leading successful projects and teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of GraphQL and AWS
  • Working knowledge of microservices architecture, containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
  • Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Java, Python, node.js, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Experience managing day-to-day technical and design direction for large scale systems.
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders, achieve strategic goals and evolve product strategy based on research, data, and industry trends.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of message brokers, queues, and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
  • Experience with agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or participation in developer communities
