Learn a trade while working. 

Join our team installing commercial storefront glass. We are a glass repair service company for commercial buildings. We also provide commercial door repair and maintenance. 

A Glazier Helper/Apprentice assists trained, experienced glaziers throughout the day, helping them maximize efficiency and provide outstanding client service, learning as you go. We hope that you will eventually gain the skills needed to become a fully trained Lead Glazier yourself. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to learn the glazing trade. 

What we do:At The Glass Fixer, Inc., we service commercial storefronts and buildings. We aren't working on skyscrapers; we replace and install plate glass in the stores and places you use every day, like corner markets or gas stations. We also repair and service commercial doors.

A typical day as a Glazier Helper at The Glass Fixer, Inc looks like this: 

Monday through Friday workweek, and we start at 8 am. Weekend work is rare unless you want to earn extra with emergency services after training. 

Start the day by checking our app for your assignments, typically 3 to 4 small jobs. Help your lead glazier gather the required materials to load into the glass van. 

Depart the shop with your assigned Lead Glazier in Anaheim and head to your first assignment. Assignments tend to change on the fly to accommodate client needs, so flexibility and a positive attitude are necessary. 

You will assist the lead glazier with driving and navigating to get to the jobs on time. 

Throughout the day, you will help your lead glazier with the following services: 

• Installing plate glass.
• Repairing and replacing components in commercial man-doors, such as closers, locks, arms, and pivots. 

Your focus throughout the day will be helping your Lead Glazier be as efficient as possible.

Set up and maintain the job site by:

• Assisting with parking and laying out safety cones.
• Securing the area and containing glass for safety. 
• Sweeping glass to company standards. 
• Cleaning glass from frames and prepping for glass installation. 
• Retrieving tools and parts for the lead glazier. 
• Assisting with carrying and installing glass
• Helping to carry heavy items safely. 
• Surveying the area for safety hazards and responding to hazards appropriately.
• Loading tools and clearing the area before departure.
• Surveying the job site before departure to ensure that all tasks are completed, and all tools and supplies are accounted for.

You will spend a lot of time in a service vehicle because we service LA, Orange Counties, and most of the Inland Empire. You will be expected to use that riding time to assist your lead glazier in any way possible. Upload pictures and notes, review and discuss the plans for the next job. You will also use travel time to review training materials and work to gain the skills needed to become a trained glazier.

We aim to get everyone back to the shop by 4:30, but due to the nature of Southern California traffic and the importance of our work for the community's safety, there are often overtime hours.

We provide uniform t-shirts, all tools and supplies, and PPE, including cut-resistant sweaters and gloves for dealing with annealed glass.

• This is a small business with a small team. 
• Most of our jobs are walk-up replacement services. We don't do high rise or curtainwalls but occasionally use boom and scissor lifts.
• Although you will work closely with the business owners, there is room for advancement.

• You must have a driver's license and a reasonably clean driving record. No DUI.

You must be able to see the full-color spectrum in order to match glass colors.
