Strong candidates will be detail-oriented, experienced working within a production team and willing to certify for other NDT methods.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Certified welding inspector to oversee the inspection of titanium weldments for aircraft seat tracks used on the Boeing Dreamliner. The ideal candidate will ensure that all welding work meets the customers quality standards required in the aerospace industry and be detail oriented. This position will require in house certification to NAS410 in FPI, UT, and DRT nondestructive test methods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.
- Maintain current visual acuity examinations.
- Interpret and evaluate results according to applicable work instructions, standards, and specifications.
- Responsible for marking all laser welding work with issued Certified Weld Inspector – Certified stamp per BAC 5307.
- Perform Visual Weld Inspection for Butt and Seam Welded Assemblies.
- Obtain level II certification in FPI, UT, and DRT.
- Demonstrate ability to perform all NDT inspections/functions of a Level II per RFC’s written procedures.
- Conduct NDT inspections for the acceptance of parts and provide identification of material failure within company policy.
Qualifications
- Five or more years’ relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical degree.
- Proficiency with software including: C#, ASP.NET, Web Forms, SQL Server, PLC communication, ERP knowledge
- Prior experience in developing an in-house MES solution or implementing an off-the-shelf MES package
- Project management and time management/organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
- Ability to travel to our sites as needed including IN and PA. Must have valid drivers’ license and ability to travel long distances independently, familiarity with GPS devices. Long-distance travel may be minimal.
- Must live in commutable distance to Shelbyville, KY and willing to work onsite as needed.
