Compensation

Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Salary Range: $170,000 to $200,000

Status: Full Time Regular

Position Summary

Summary:
The Director of Nursing leads and directs the mission, vision and values of patient care services in the strategic planning, implementation and evaluation of quality, safe and efficient nursing care. The Director of Nursing (DON) develops, facilitates and supports nursing and interdisciplinary care standards throughout the service(s) which is aligned with the organization's mission, values, and philosophy. The DON fosters and demonstrates collaborative relationships with other disciplines; participates as a partner in the respective service line, oversees the nursing service's financial planning, implementation and monitoring of operational and capital budgets; collaborates with physicians, consultants, and community agencies to provide service-specific quality and improvement projects that optimize staff, patient outcomes and physician satisfaction.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:
Education Required
• Must complete in-house orientation program
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Nursing. Graduate degree in nursing, health care related field or business required.
• Must complete internal Nursing Orientation program successfully and in a timely manner.
• Must complete annual mandatory education (Hospital/Nursing)

Experience And Skills
• Speaks, reads and writes English
• Five years of progressive management experience
• Clinical experience/or skills relevant to the assigned area of practice
• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly developed skills in leadership, public relations, teambuilding, problem solving, decision-making, conflict management, analytical skills and critical thinking abilities.

License/Certifications
• Current and valid New York State registration authorizing practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
• Certifications for assigned area of practice:
1. Nurse Executive (ANCC) or appropriate clinical/special certification preferred
2. NIMS: National Incident Management System (IS-100.HC, IS-200.HC, IS-700)
