Job Description –Production / Inventory Accountant

We are looking for a diligent accounting professional to join our accounting department.

Under the management of the Controller this newly created position will be responsible for production

and retail inventory accounting functions.

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the timely identification and resolution of

inventory discrepancies. This role will assist the Cost Accountant with accounting and reconciliation of

inventory, as well as perform physical inventories.

Qualifications needed:

 Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting required

 A minimum of two years experience as an Inventory or Cost Accountant

 An understanding of GAAP in relation to inventory

 Must Promote teamwork, cooperation, and effective communication with all departments

 Retail accounting experience required

 Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications and ERP system

experience (QuickBooks preferred)

 Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required

 Willingness to work, learn, and appreciate the complexities of the cannabis industry

 Strong verbal and written communication skills

 Ability to maintain composure in a fast‐paced environment

 Superior analytical and problem‐solving skills

Responsibilities include:

1. Analyze weekly ingredient usage variances on manufacturing orders and post required adjustments

2. Developing inventory analysis reports and analyzing variance

3. Assisting in the improvement in internal controls related to inventory

4. Verifying accurate standard costs

5. Monitoring inventory transactions

6. Reconciling inventory accounts to the general ledger

7. Preparing monthly journal entries as needed

8. Review and resolve issues with inventory transfer orders between locations

9. Review production order reports and record corrections, as necessary

10. Provide inventory support and guidance to production facility as needed

11. Process daily cash receipts and post payments to customer accounts

12. Match purchase orders for raw materials receipts and resolve discrepancies

13. Ensure procedures are documented and updated regularly

14. Assist in collection and preparation of documentation requested for the monthly/yearly outside

audit

15. Must be willing to travel to our retail locations and/or production facility for inventory audits,

training, and assistance

16. Perform additional responsibilities within the department as assigned
