The HCA Nurse Residency Program offers a comprehensive year-long experience designed to equip you with essential clinical and critical thinking skills. Job Summary and Qualifications

The HCA Nurse Residency Program delivers the essential tools to thrive in today’s hospital environment. This paid program facilitates your transition from classroom to hands-on practice, including:

Shift availability is based on unit requirements.

As an RN Resident, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care that aligns with departmental standards and nursing practices. In partnership with medical teams, you will offer individualized, compassionate care using established nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, noting and reporting any changes.
  • Administer procedures and treatments as directed by medical providers, ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Dispense prescribed medications, monitoring for effectiveness and addressing any adverse reactions.
  • Deliver exceptional patient care with a proactive attitude toward meeting needs and resolving issues.
  • Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-care instructions, ensuring clear understanding.

Qualifications Required:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within one year of hire
  • College degree in Nursing (Associate or Bachelor's)
  • Active Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse status in the state
  • No prior experience necessary
  • Ability to travel for training as needed
