Summary:

The Senior Quality Assurance Inspector will coordinate & perform audits, inspections and tests at various stages of the production process in compliance with procedures and specifications designed by Engineering and customers. This position must have the ability to perform the following:

Responsibilities:
  • Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications, company's quality control system including compliance with legal requirements, and shipping and packaging conformity to specified standards.
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, and/or products to measure performance, and/or material characteristics.
  • Measurement and testing data organization, reporting and analysis.
  • Ensures that the correct production orders are running to the correct specifications on assigned equipment.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Assists with maintaining the gage calibration system
  • Assists with purchasing and engineering activities in relation to test new materials and compounds
  • Works with limited supervision and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation among and between shifts, quality control, and management to facilitate and meet departmental goals.
  • Ensures proper levels of General Manufacturing Procedures, Health/Safety and Housekeeping rules are maintained and regulatory requirements are met at all times
  • Audits processes and process outputs for compliance
Minimum required qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to read and measure parts using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators or other measuring tools
The ideal candidate possesses the following experience, skills, and abilities:
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality and/or machining experience preferred
  • Ability to perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication in units of measurement.
  • Ability to manage multiple issues involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
  • Maintain a consistently safe work environment and personally demonstrates his/her commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Prior G,D & T experience desired
