GENERAL SUMMARY To provide clerical and receptionist support to a section of the Sheriff's Office. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Transcribe reports, forms, and correspondence. Minimum 60 wpm. Answer incoming calls, provide information, and/or direct callers to appropriate personnel. Coordinate with section staff and other government agencies. Maintains records system for the administration staff. Provide inmate accounting. Greet and correspond with citizens and officials. Performs related work as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma with an additional two (2) years of college. Preference is given to those with experience in criminal justice, law, or law enforcement. One year of experience as a receptionist/clerical person is preferred. Must have exceptional office skills, good working knowledge of Microsoft WORD and Excel programs, good computer and keyboard skills, and the ability to accurately transcribe using standard transcription equipment. Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting. Ability to maintain confidentially. Must pass a thorough background investigation and drug test. Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
