Position: Phlebotomist

Growing Family Practice in Hickory searching for an experienced Laboratory Tech for a full-time position in the lab.

Duties to include but not limited to:
    • Laboratory technicians are responsible for performing test and reporting results. Individual performs tasks and duties in all areas of the laboratory according to laboratory protocols and procedures. Responsible for performing and recording all quality controls as well as recognizing abnormal or unusual test results and reporting critical values.
    • Collects blood, urine and other samples from patients.
    • Running in-house labs.
    • Ordering sends out labs, bagging and storing appropriately until pickup.
    • Trouble shooting CBC and Chemistry machines.
    • Running daily QCs, performing scheduled linearities/calibrations and maintaining log books.
    • Calling patients with lab results.
    • Maintaining lab schedule, patient requisitions and next day reminder calls for scheduled patients.
    • Alternating shifts: 700 am-400pm one week and 800am-530pm or when last patient has left for the day.
    • Willing to learn x-rays and EKGs.
    • Must work well with others and have a team mindset.
Minimum Requirements and Experience:
    • High School Diploma
    • Phlebotomy Certification (preferred, not required)
    • Proficient in drawing blood
