Job Overview:
Kolmac is seeking a dedicated and adaptable IOP Addiction Counselor to join our dynamic team of addiction treatment professionals. The Floater Addiction Counselor will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless and effective delivery of addiction counseling services across our various treatment programs. The Counselor will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of various departments within our organization. This position requires flexibility, strong clinical skills, and a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of individuals facing addiction challenges.
Responsibilities
Job Functions Include:
- Start Date Immediately
- 2nd Shift / M-F / 12:30PM-8:30PM
- Must be licensed to provide services in MD prior to being hired
- Provides case management services which support a positive treatment outcome
- Serves as therapist in IOP and continued care groups, as well as provide individual therapy as needed for SUD and/or mental health disorders
- Organizes and makes educational presentations related to behavioral health and recovery
- Develop patient-centered treatment plans based on results from the screening tools and bio psychosocial assessment
- Collaborates with medical staff and treatment team as a whole
- Consults with family members and referral sources in order to coordinate patient care
- Ensures adequate case management services are identified and addressed
- Responsible for maintaining electronic health records which include documentation of treatment activity and progress
- Ensures that patient records are accurate, comprehensive and meets regulatory standards
Qualifications - Education and Experience:
- Must Haves:
- Must hold valid license in MD (Candidates must be licensed to provide services in MD prior to being hired)
- Strong clinical, verbal, and writing skills
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Is engaging with patients, while promoting and maintaining accountability.
- Flexible and creative team player
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work where needed, when needed
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in the SUD field.
- Experience and comfort with working in an electronic medical record.
- Knowledgeable and well-versed in various recovery modalities, including SMART Recovery, Women for Sobriety, 12-Step, Recovery Dharma, etc.
- Ability to travel to various sites
- A minimum of three years of continuous sobriety is required - five years is preferred.
- Pluses:
- Group psychotherapy experience preferred, but not required.
- CAC-AD, LGADC, LGPC, LMSW, LCADC, LCPC, LCSW, LCSW-C in Maryland
