Job Title: Infrastructure Systems Architect Department: Systems Reports To: Director of Systems FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary: The Infrastructure Systems Architect is responsible for understanding both the business and technical requirements for new products that will be engineered and implemented for use by customers. Primarily responsible for the design, documentation and implementation of MedNetwoRx IT infrastructure. This includes the data center environmental infrastructure, virtual environment, storage, networking, and related applications. The Infrastructure Systems Architect works closely with team members to ensure performance, availability, and security of implemented infrastructure that is supportable as a service methodology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Engineering of necessary data center technologies with strength areas focused around computer, storage, interconnectivity and virtualization. Must have good knowledge of highly available data center trends and best practices as it relates to cooling, electrical, UPS, and APC systems. Understanding the complexity, operational requirements, and monitoring requirements for supporting multiple data centers. Analyze, review in detail, and provide periodic reporting on all network/systems devices and software services to aid in capacity management. In addition, based on report findings, make recommendations on changes that will improve network/systems functionality.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully the successful candidate must have expert knowledge of virtual hypervisors, (VM Ware), storage/replication (IBM V7000 and IBM DS3500),SAN Technology (Brocade), network design and administration (Cisco and IBM), as well as a firm understanding of data protection strategies. The successful candidate possesses a love for technology.

Technologies: VMware, Cisco and IBM networking, Microsoft, IBM xSeries, IBM PureFlex server hardware, IBM Storage V7000 and DS3500, Brocade SAN, IBM LTO TS3310 and TS3200 LTO4/5 libraries, Nagios, SolarWinds, MRTG.

Certificates and Licenses: Various relevant (VMWare, Networking, Microsoft, SAN) certifications coupled with real world medium to enterprise level environments preferred.
