Summary

The Fuel Truck Operator drives a heavy-duty mobile fuel truck to transport fuel and other petroleum products from one destination to another. Examples of site equipment requiring fuel include: generators, fork lift, boom lift, dirt equipment, reach forks, compressors, fuel cells and rental equipment for site construction projects. They perform basic vehicle maintenance and complies with all safe work practices and policies.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma/GED.

Two (2) years of experience in operating a heavy-duty truck and equipment such as tractor-trailer, mobile fuel truck, front end loaders, backhoe, grader and/or scraper.

Arizona drivers license.

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:

Arizona Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Experience in fuel truck operation.

Nuclear requirement:

Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.

Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.

This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.

These are conditions of employment at PVNGS.

Major Accountabilities

1) Performs fuel loading and unloading by transferring fluids from fuel trucks to stationary tanks (Palo Verde equipment). Escorts external fuel trucks for on-site deliveries and ensures Pilot delivers fuel to fuel island. Defuels generators temporarily brought to site for transport off-site to meet Department of Transportation regulations for the rental company.

2) Compiles fuel logs from daily and weekly fuel deliveries to equipment by entering data into a computer for billing purposes. Ensures gallons dispensed are tracked and billed to the correct unit number or capital project.

3) Plans, coordinates and schedules fuel deliveries based on each equipment requirements, location, burn rate and best time to avoid unnecessary downtime.

4) Conducts vehicle maintenance checks, and performs minor repairs. Ensures Palo Verdes two fuel islands are in good working condition by performing minor maintenance repairs.

5) Transports tools, chemicals, supplies and equipment around station as required.

6) Supports activities of other teams and external customers to ensure overall team success.

This position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site, due to the nature of work.

Any PVGS employees may be called upon for random Fitness for Duty (FFD) testing during scheduled working hours. Employees, if off-site, must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified. Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified.
