The Oregon Clinic, a physician-owned, multi-specialty medical practice, is on the lookout for an experienced and dynamic individual to step into the pivotal role of GI Pathologist Lab Director. If you're a board-certified pathologist with expertise in surgical or anatomical pathology and have previous clinical experience in GI pathology, we want to hear from you This is a unique opportunity to be part of building a center from the ground up and making a lasting impact on patient care. Located on the St. Vincent Medical Center campus in beautiful Portland, Oregon, where you'll play a key role in shaping the future of our laboratory services.
In this groundbreaking position, you'll lead a team supporting over 60+ MDs, processing nearly 60,000 samples annually in 2023. Your role will be crucial in establishing and maintaining the highest standards in GI pathology, contributing to the success of our laboratory, and ultimately enhancing patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Help build and shape our GI pathology center from its inception.
- Ensure the successful operations and regulatory compliance of the department through continuous improvement efforts.
- Document and communicate standard operating policies and procedures to relevant stakeholders.
- Lead and manage a team of GI Pathologists, contributing to the growth and success of the team.
- Evaluate productivity, quality, accuracy, and performance of laboratory staff.
- Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and additional training as needed.
- Recruit new staff and manage staffing levels and work schedules.
- Lead quality assurance program for the pathology lab.
Additional Highlights:
- Enjoy a Monday through Friday schedule without on-call responsibilities.
- Typically, 4 days a week (10-hour shifts), with flexibility.

Requirements:
- Current active Oregon MD or DO License.
- Board certification in surgical or anatomical pathology with a preference for a GI Fellowship.
- Previous GI pathology clinical experience is required.
- Administrative experience is preferred.
