Job Description:This is a multipurpose position in which duties range from carrying out basic patient care tasks as directed by a licensed therapist to overseeing a variety of operational activities for the department. Scope: Promotes mission, vision, tenets and values of West Pines Behavioral Health, and abides by service behavior standards. Performs other duties as assigned. May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need. Provide group and individual therapy using therapeutic techniques and other outcomes-based approaches appropriate to group functioning and skills based upon the information gathered during the comprehensive initial assessment Provides assessments and treatment to aid in the development of skills and behaviors of patients in order to function to the highest level of independence. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, through the use of various experiential modalities. Assess coping mechanisms, leisure history, skills and current functioning to determine appropriateness to participate. Develop group, experiential action-based treatment, individual and family treatments as member of a multidiscipline team. Plan and implement group, individual and family treatments ensuring a safe, comfortable therapeutic environment. Ensure the follow-through of treatment goals concerning therapeutic activities. Document patients progress and response to treatment. Minimum Requirements Bachelors Degree in related field- required One year behavioral health experience - required Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in mental health field or related experience Three years experience in mental health preferred. Physical Requirements: Physical Requirements Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
