Histology Technician

- Perform routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of slides, for microscopic evaluation by the pathologist(s)
- Performs all testing which includes but not limited to gross surgical analysis, embedding, microtomy sectioning, staining and cytology prep with the general supervision of the Histology supervisor or manger.
- Documents daily maintenance on instruments, calibration verification, and ensures availability of reagents and quality controls.
- Must be able to adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies and documentation of all quality control in compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations.
- Interacts professionally with department members, physicians and all staff members. Must be able to assists the laboratory team in meeting the strategic goals.
- Monitors specimen tracking and workflow using specimen tracking reports including in-house as well as send out consultations.
- Performs all other related duties as required and assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
- Associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited school
- Valid Medical Laboratory Technician license from ASCP or equivalent
- Must be eligible to work in the State of California
- 1-2 years of experience in Histology laboratory
Shift: Variable
