Position Summary

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Specialist with Document Control Responsibilities to join our team in Las Vegas, NV. The ideal candidate will manage shipping processes efficiently, ensuring proper document control and record-keeping. This role requires a meticulous individual with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Essential Job Functions:


Shipping:

  • Process outbound shipments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Verify and document shipment contents, including item descriptions, quantities, and condition.
  • Coordinate with carriers and freight companies to schedule pickups and deliveries.

Document Control:

  • Establish and maintain an organized document control system.
  • Create and manage shipping documents, including packing lists, bills of lading, and shipping labels.
  • Ensure all shipping documents are accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies and regulations.

Record-Keeping:

  • Maintain detailed records of all outgoing shipments.
  • Organize and file shipping documents for easy retrieval.
  • Implement a systematic approach to track and manage shipping-related records.

Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and carriers regarding shipment details.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve shipping-related issues promptly.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct regular audits of shipping documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify and address discrepancies or errors in shipping records.

Inventory Management:

  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels by conducting regular counts and reconciling with shipping records.
  • Communicate any inventory discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Ensure that shipping equipment, such as scales, labeling machines, and barcode scanners, is well-maintained and in good working condition.

Compliance:

  • Stay informed about shipping regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Implement and enforce compliance with shipping and document control policies.
Qualifications

Qualifications:
Training and/or Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with document control processes and procedures.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using shipping software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must have excellent reading and math skills.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.


Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move packages, as needed.

Work Conditions:

  • Candidates should have a flexible schedule during our busy Quarter End periods.
  • The work conditions are representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
