EMS Assistant Education Instructor

Major Responsibilities:

  • Aids the EMS System in the initial paramedic education
  • Coordinates and teaches specialty courses such as CPR, ACLS, PHTLS and PEPP as needed.
  • Assists with the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective learning domains of students enrolled in the paramedic program.

Licensure:

Nurse, Registered (RN) OR Licensed Paramedic


Education/Experience Required:

ED Nurse (3 year minimum) OR Paramedic (3 year minimum) Strong knowledge of prehospital skills

Knowledge of simulation

Illinois EMS Lead Instructor within 6 months of hire

CPR, ACLS, PHTLS Instructor within 6 months of hire

Documented teaching experience in prehospital care

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Strong people skills. Competency in emergency or prehospital care

Paramedic or RN BLS provider, ACLS provider, PHTLS/BTLS provider

Organized

Committed to deadlines

Team centric

Computer proficient/Programs (MS Office, Outlook, FISDAP, Navigate)


Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions:

Organized, independent, flexible, initiative-taking

Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds without assistance.
