.Patient Care:*

Assist the Respiratory Therapists with providing the following direct patient care outside of the critical care areas to assigned patients under supervision of Registered Respiratory Therapist:

. Clean and set up equipment.
. Set-up and monitoring of low-flow oxygen (eg, less than or equal to 6 LPM)
. Non-exotic Aerosol therapy (bronchodilators, anticholinergics, etc.)
. Hyperinflation and airway clearance therapy
. Assist in stocking and assembling supplies
. Perform Pulse Oximetry
. Assist in cardiorespiratory arrests, under direct supervision of the Respiratory Supervisor.
. Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
. Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues
. All other duties as assigned.

Job Knowledge:

. High School Diploma or equivalent; required
. Be an active Respiratory Therapy student, completed the first year of Respiratory school and in their second year.
. CPR credentialed
. In good standing to complete Associates degree in Respiratory Care within nine months.
. Interaction with a patient population of all ages ranging from neonates to geriatrics; required
. Serves patient population categories of infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
