Job Summary:
Vista Medical Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate CT Tech to join our team. The successful candidate will operate computed tomography (CT) equipment to produce diagnostic images under the direction of a physician. You will work closely with patients, explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and adhering to safety standards to provide high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CT scanners and related equipment to obtain diagnostic images.
  • Explain procedures to patients and ensure their comfort and safety during the scan.
  • Monitor video displays during the scan and adjust settings to optimize image quality.
  • Review images for diagnostic quality and collaborate with radiologists.
  • Use radiation safety measures to protect patients and staff.
  • Perform venipuncture and contrast injections as needed.
  • Maintain CT equipment by performing quality control tests and reporting issues.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Standards of Behavior:

  2. Compliance and Continuing Education:
    Follow departmental policies, participate in meetings and in-services, and stay updated on best practices in radiology and patient care through continuous learning.

  3. Patient Care:
    Perform high-quality CT scans, ensuring care that is age-appropriate and tailored to individual patient needs. Practice sterile techniques and maintain safety protocols.

  4. Venipuncture:
    Perform venipuncture and contrast administration, ensuring proper techniques and patient safety.

  5. Equipment Maintenance:
    Conduct routine calibration and quality control testing of CT equipment, ensuring optimal performance.

  6. Work Area Maintenance:
    Keep exam rooms and equipment organized, clean, and well-stocked.

  7. Additional Duties:
    Assist with special projects, adapt to operational changes, and maintain confidentiality of all patient information.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    Completion of a two-year radiology program from an AMA-approved school.

  • Experience:
    New graduates are welcome; 1-2 years of experience preferred.

  • Skills & Certifications:

    • Current Radiology Tech licensure (IEMA) in Illinois.
    • Registered or eligible for registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
    • Must pass the CT registry within one year of hire.
    • CPR certification (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers).

Work Environment:

  • This position involves continuous standing and walking, frequent sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to infectious diseases, patient emergencies, and irregular hours may occur.
  • You may be required to travel to other Vista Health sites.

Patient Demographics:
You will provide care for patients of all ages, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
