Job Title: Nurse - LPN
Full-time; Varying Districts available; FLSA: Exempt

Summary: The School LPN supports the management of health services for students through evaluation and maintenance of student health and staff under the direction of a RN.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned by the Administration.
Oversight of basic healthcare within the school and district providing medication administration, first aide and appropriate care for medically fragile and ill students.
Works with and communicates written or orally with students, families, healthcare providers and district staff to ensure appropriate care records are received, implemented, maintained and legally compliant.
Under the supervision of the RN maintains all health care plans, medical emergency information, immunization records for students.
Responsible for implementation of medication, seizure plans, etc.
Assesses students' health and development to identify illnesses and disorders that may affect students in the learning process.
Implement medical needs according to 504 and IEP plans and make recommendations to support student growth and learning.
Responsible for administering or oversight of assessments, e.g. hearing, vision, scoliosis, immunization and other ailments, as directed by the supervisor.
Assist in staff training, as needed for Child Abuse and Neglect, Medication administration, communicable diseases, Seizure plan stratgies, lifting strategies, etc.
May participate on the school wellness team at the building and/or district level.
Reports cases of suspected child abuse and neglect immediately to ensure compliance with all laws.
Involved in and support intervention strategies; medical, academic and behavioral.
Supports and upholds school and ECWR policy and procedures.
Attend meetings and complete forms necessary for the quality operation of education relating to the area of responsibility.
Education/Experience & Certification: A current Ohio LPN Nursing License is required. School experience is preferred.
Physical Demands: The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee is frequently able to perform holds up to 100 pounds and one - two person lifts, as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Peripheral vision. While performing the duties of their job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit; bend; twist; and squat. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Drug Testing: Must pass a drug screen at time of hire and comply with the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988.
