IT Business Analyst

Fincantieri Marine Group currently has an opportunity for a Business Advisor, HRIS at the Green Bay, Wisconsin location. Fincantieri Marine Group (FMG) is the United States subsidiary of Italian shipbuilding giant Fincantieri, one of the world's largest shipbuilders, employing more than 19,000 shipbuilding professionals in 20 shipyards on four continents. Fincantieri has a rich history dating back more than 230 years and a track-record of delivering more than 7,000 ships. Fincantieri Marine Group is comprised of three Great Lakes Shipyards: Fincantieri Marinette Marine, builder of Freedom Class Littoral Combat Ships for the United States Navy; Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding, specialists in construction, repair and conversion of United States Coast Guard (USCG) and commercial vessels; and Fincantieri ACE Marine, an aluminum construction facility and builder of Response Boat-Medium for the USCG, as well as specializing in the design and construction of high speed coastal intercept and patrol vessels.
The HRIS Business Advisor acts as a liaison between users across the FMG organizations and the IT department, championing continuous improvement while enhancing the solution platform to meet the business's needs and goals. This role supports the business by analyzing needs, solidifying requirements, troubleshooting issues, training focal point users, managing projects, and defining solutions. You will play a crucial role in optimizing HR systems to support the organization's strategic objectives. As a member of the IT Applications Team, you will provide functional and technical support to Business Users to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. Team members are expected to become the experts for their applications and have strong knowledge of business processes supported by the team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Relationship Development: Build and maintain relationships with users and facility/functional area leadership to understand business conditions, operational challenges, and potential opportunities.
• Business Advisory: Serve as a business advisor for the implementation and support of HR systems throughout the concept, design, realization, and support project stages.
• HRIS Management: Oversee HRIS such as ADP, SAP HRM, PA (HR Personnel Administration), OM (Organizational Management), TM (Talent Management), PD (Personnel Development), and SAP SuccessFactors.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with functional area leadership in tactical and business planning processes, operational planning/review processes, and communication processes to understand business requirements.
• Process Evaluation: Evaluate business processes and needs with key stakeholders to increase efficiency, productivity, and functionality, translating these requirements into specifications for developers.
• Solution Development: Lead the development of solutions that meet business needs, optimizing configuration, customization, and process change considerations.
• System Support: Support peripheral systems and interfaces related to HR business processes. • Testing and Quality Assurance: Assist developers in unit testing deliverables and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) with business partners to ensure quality and functionality.
• Project Management: Define and manage project elements, including scope, schedule, cost, and deliverables, in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Communication: Interface and communicate with program/project teams, management, and stakeholders regularly to foster a culture of inclusion and transparency.
• Liaison: Act as a liaison to HR Information Systems for the implementation and testing of any improvements or new developments. • Training and Documentation: Create, review, and deliver end-user documentation (user guides, process flow charts, training materials) and training sessions.
• Policy Adherence: Abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures. • Team Collaboration: Work well within a small, collaborative team environment, encouraging participation in all facets of solution design and delivery.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
o Proven experience as an SAP HR Consultant or similar role, with a focus on implementing SAP HR modules (PA, OM, TM, Payroll).
o 10+ years of relevant experience (combined business and technical). o 5+ years of SAP experience (in areas of Payroll, Benefits, and HR preferred).
o Hands-on experience with SAP configuration and customization. o Experience with SAP SuccessFactors or other cloud-based HR solutions.
o Experience in full-cycle SAP implementation projects.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of ABAP programming language for SAP customization.
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of HR business processes and best practices, as well as the statutory and regulatory mandates for HR across FMG's business units, including commercial and military customers.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to document functional and technical specifications.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
• Project Management: Familiarity with Project Management Methodology and the ability to manage IT project and program risks, issues, and scope changes using defined program governance processes and tools.
• Certification: Certification in SAP HR modules is a plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and occasionally stand or walk; use hands to handle materials or equipment; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, areas of the work environment may not be climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.
