Data Analyst

Position Summary:
This role will require good understanding of financial and US retirement service domain knowledge.
s data analyst, the person will gather information from various sources and interpret patterns and trends.
S/He will turn business requirement into technical specification for the development team.
Candidate needs to have good understanding on normalized vs de-normalized data model.
Candidate needs to be good with SQL preferrably on Oracle Database.
Strong Datawarehousing knowledge and ready to provide guidance to junior members in the team.
Data analyst needs to have a good communication skill as the role demands lot of interaction with US Business team as well as IT stakeholders.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
successful candidate will perform the below mentioned activities, based on their skillsets and trainability.
Collecting and interpreting data, understand the relationship between the data elements
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Working alongside teams within the business or the management team to establish business needs
Translating business requirements into technical specs.
Filter and clean data by defining the data quality rules
Perform Data Profiling tasks.
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
To merge data from multiple data sources together, as part of data mining, so it can be analysed and reported on.
To run queries on existing data sources to evaluate analytics and analyse trends.
Understand and translate business needs into logical data models supporting long-term solutions.
Work with the Application Development team to implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models.
Maintaining the DataCatalog along with mappig them with the business requirement

IBM IGC (Information Governance Catalog)
IBM Information Analyzer

Data Goveranance Practices

Skills and Abilities:
Strong DWH concepts
Good exposure on Dimensional modeling like Star and Snowflake schem
dvanced SQL knowledge
Strong verbal and written communication skills
n analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving
Financia\Asset Management domain knowledge
n understanding of data architecture and modeling practices and concepts including entity-relationship diagrams, normalization, abstraction, denormalization, dimensional modeling, and meta data modeling practices.
n understanding of Data Goveranace Practicies Business Glossary, Data cataloG, source to target mappings , Data Quality etc.
