Description
This fellowship program is designed to provide Emergency Medicine junior faculty with advanced training in Resuscitation Medicine with a particular emphasis on Critical Care in the ED and Pre-Hospital Setting. It is expected that participants that complete this program will be prepared to pursue clinical, academic, and/or research careers in ED Critical Care. Our program has a strong clinical emphasis and trainees will rotate through Trauma and NeuroTrauma ICU at STC, CCM, NCCU, and ED Critical Care. The program will be for 1 year.
Participants will have graded responsibilities depending on location. In the ED, they will function as EM faculty seeing patients independently as well as supervising residents and medical students in the Emergency Department. In the ICU, they will work under the supervision of CCM attendings and assist with patient care and resident education.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
MD/DO Degree (or foreign equivalent). Completion of Emergency Medicine Residency. Board Certification/Eligibility in Emergency Medicine. Eligible for New York State License. Candidates must be a graduate of a certified US Emergency Medicine ACGME program. Candidates should have an educational background that includes at least two months of critical care training. Candidates should show an interest in ED Critical Care and Resuscitation as evidenced by research, teaching, and/or quality improvement projects.
