Overview i3 has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to support the Naval Research Laboratory, Tactical Electronic Warfare Division. The TEWD's mission is to protect the warfighter from emerging threats by advancing electronic warfare (EW) through RDT&E of current and future technologies. This Electrical Engineer will develop power distribution circuitry for radio frequency (RF) countermeasure systems. Responsibilities Contributing team member in the research, design, development, test, and analysis of offboard RF countermeasure systems. Design and test power supplies and power distribution networks. Support integration and verification testing in laboratory and field environments. Generate technical reports documenting design and analysis. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related field. Minimum one (1) year of experience. Experience designing and testing digital or analog circuits. Experience testing power supply circuitry and designing test fixtures for power distribution networks. Experience with AC/DC conversion and DC/DC conversion. Experience simulating circuit components using industry standard tools (LTSpice, Xilinx Power Estimator, etc.). Experience with electronic test equipment. Desired: Master’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related field. Five (5) years of experience. Experience with printed circuit board layout. Knowledge of different regulator types (linear/switching regulators) and the ability to perform tradeoffs (efficiency, noise, etc.). Knowledge of power management circuitry (PMIC). Experience writing technical reports. Security Clearance Active DoD Secret. Knowledge / Skills Knowledge of office administration and procedures. Exceptional judgment capabilities and relationship management skills. Excellent communication, teamwork, and client service skills; ability to clearly communicate in discussions and written documents, and to deliver feedback clearly and tactfully. Interact with a diverse array of customers and staff in a professional and courteous manner. Work independently with accountability for accurate and complete results. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
