Shift Timings: 7:00-19:30 Monday to friday
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
- Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
- Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.
- Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
- Assist with care, calibration and maintenance of all equipment. Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment. Process equipment per established cleaning/sterilization procedures.
- Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls.
- Respiratory care practitioner, must have level 3 NICU experience
- Must have experience with intubating
- Must be comfortable attending high risk deliveries and being responsible for taking the lead in evaluation newborn according to NRP.
- Experience with running ABG's.
- BLS and ACLS
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Passionate about patient care
- Requires a minimum of two years of Respiratory Therapist experience.
- Graduate from a fully accredited Respiratory Therapist program
- Active unencumbered Respiratory Therapist California state license
- One year of Epic experience
- COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
- Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
- Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
- Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
