Department: Respiratory Therapy

Shift Timings: 7:00-19:30 Monday to friday

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.
  • Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
  • Assist with care, calibration and maintenance of all equipment. Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment. Process equipment per established cleaning/sterilization procedures.
  • Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Respiratory care practitioner, must have level 3 NICU experience
  • Must have experience with intubating
  • Must be comfortable attending high risk deliveries and being responsible for taking the lead in evaluation newborn according to NRP.
  • Experience with running ABG's.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BLS and ACLS
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of Respiratory Therapist experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Respiratory Therapist program
  • Active unencumbered Respiratory Therapist California state license
  • One year of Epic experience
