Cardiothoracic Surgery Medical Assistant

Join our dynamic team as a Cardiothoracic Surgery Medical Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our healthcare professionals.

This position focuses on patient preparation and ensures that all registry requirements are met with precision and care.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Streamlining patient flow by preparing patients for their visit and providing essential services and education as directed by providers.
- Managing administrative tasks to maintain current and updated electronic health records.
- Keeping the work environment and equipment clean, reporting any issues promptly.
- Welcoming patients with respect and empathy, and effectively communicating with the healthcare team to ensure quality care.
- Collecting patient data, documenting care per guidelines, and tracking chargeable items/services.
- Engaging in quality and efficiency monitoring, and implementing recommendations for operational improvements.
- Continuously expanding your knowledge in the healthcare field by participating in ongoing training and education specific to your department.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of a competency-based orientation program is necessary.
- 1 year of relevant experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- One of the following certifications must be obtained within 120 Days:
- AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
- NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required within 120 Days.
