To our prospective teammates,

I'm the hospitalist medical director for Sound Physicians at Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, CA. I joined the hospitalist team at St. Mary's in 2019 as a hospitalist and grew into the hospitalist medical director role. We are expanding our team, and I'd like to share more about who we are and what we do - specifically about our people, practice, and purpose - as you consider your options:

People
  • Become a valued member of our team of eight hospitalist physicians, where a friendly atmosphere is at the core of our work environment.

  • Within the hospital, we work closely with our colleagues in other departments to ensure a smooth transition of care.
Practice
  • We work in an open ICU environment, but no procedures are required.
  • We use Epic EMR and have access to Sound Physicians' internal informatics platform.
  • Yearly compensation depends on the number of shifts worked. On average, our physicians earn $316k- $330k base salaries with a regular rotation of the day and night shifts.
  • There is a $50k commencement for anyone who signs a nocturnist contract.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
  • Internal medicine and family medicine candidates are eligible, including 2025 residents. Candidates must be board-certified or eligible with the expectation of obtaining certification.
  • J1 eligible; access to Sound's in-house visa specialists as well as our licensing and credentialing experts; all required filing fees for the visa are paid and services covered
