Systems Service Technician 1 (Pasco, WA) The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture. Summary This job is responsible for electrical/electronic and mechanical maintenance, efficient and effective operation and sanitation of defect removal equipment within the Simplot factory site during his/her shift in a manner that assures personnel safety, food safety and optimal equipment performance. The individual in this job must be capable of optimizing the performance of all equipment under their responsibility. Electrical & mechanical support will be provided by the maintenance department to ensure adequate time is devoted to the programming needs and checks of the equipment. Sanitation of the equipment will also be required as needed, with ongoing support from the operations team. The individual in this job must establish and maintain open communications and productive working relationships with various team leaders, maintenance personnel, operators, attendants, laborers & members of management. Other Information Must have an acceptable safety record. Must have an acceptable attendance record. Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision. Must be able to read, understand, and communicate materials in a manner to successfully perform the job duties. Must be able to able to identify and distinguish colors (i.e. wiring, instrumentation, color codes, etc). Must demonstrate good computer skills. Must demonstrate math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, counting, averages, and percentages) including the proper use of a calculator. Must be able to work at heights. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work in extreme environments: loud, hot, wet, and occasional slippery floors. Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks on a regular basis. Must be able to safely work with and around cleaning and sanitizing chemicals and be able to effectively use personal protective equipment as appropriate for given tasks. Must have their own hand tools. Must have good electrical, and mechanical skills, demonstrate a willingness to successfully operate, maintain, and perform equipment sanitation duties within area(s) of responsibility to defect systems equipment, and demonstrate excellent communication skills during a panel interview.
