About the role:

Our healthcare organization, NHRMC, is seeking a Clinical Care Assistant II to collaborate with our providers to assess, plan, provide exemplary patient care, and implement plans of care. In this role, you will be responsible for administrative duties as well as clinical tasks such as recording results of clinical tests, collecting specimens, and administering medication and vaccines.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Completion of front desk reception tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, recording patient interviews, histories, and chief complaints
  • Ability to perform routine EKG and basic phlebotomy
  • Assist physicians with History and Physicals, minor office procedures, treatments, and patient education; maintain inventory of sample medications; dispose of medical waste as per OSHA guidelines
  • Strong working knowledge of current medications, dosing, and prescribing requirements; prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments having knowledge of its purpose, adverse effects, and nursing care provided
  • Communication skills using appropriate medical terminology as well as working with pharmacies and insurance companies on prior authorizations
  • Ensure that patients have received all necessary information and answer any health and treatment-related queries they may have.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Medical Assistant with a minimum of one-year previous medical/physician office experience
  • Demonstrate ownership, teamwork, communication, and compassion to support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence
  • Maintain current certification, fulfill all CME requirements, and complete physical exam and annual TB skin testing
  • Adhere to departmental dress codes, wear picture identification badge, and be flexible to cover various medical offices if needed.
