FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $20.87 - $27.13 / hour. Compensation based on relevant experience.

As a Urology Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to urologic patients under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or physician. Your responsibilities will involve assisting with minor procedures, obtaining patient histories, and performing essential diagnostic studies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtain patient history and vital signs, provide explanations of procedures, document care, and effectively communicate findings with the RN and Physician.
• Assist with urologic radiographic and ultrasound examinations as well as cystoscopies.
• Conduct Urinary Drug Screen (UDS) studies in the presence of a Provider.
• Assist with minor surgical procedures, including urinary catheter insertions and removals.
• Perform laboratory duties, including simple dressing changes and collecting or preparing specimens.
• Communicate prescription refill requests and handle refills to the pharmacy efficiently.
• Administer medications and injections following practice-specific guidelines.
• Ensure specimens are sent to testing laboratories and communicate any abnormal results to providers.
• Clean and restock examination rooms, supplies, and equipment; transport patients as needed.

This position requires strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• Credentials: Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution or equivalent military training. Trained in urology procedures through vocational or on-the-job training.
• Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider certification is essential; relevant certification depends on position level.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a healthcare-related role.
• Please ensure BLS certification is current before the start date.
