Hours: PRN Xray Technician

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides quality diagnostic imaging to aide in patient diagnosis. Prepares and assists patients during radiological exams and testing. Work directly with physicians to facilitate proper imaging protocols.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Provide quality diagnostic images on a diverse demographic in accordance to Radiologist protocols.
  • Ability to assess technical quality of radiographs.
  • Has knowledge and use of ALARA principles.
  • Document appropriate patient information necessary for exam interpretation and patient care.
  • Responsible for patient safety.
  • Proper use of PPE, cleaning surfaces and patient care equipment, and stocks rooms when necessary.
  • Set up and assist the Radiologist in fluoroscopy special procedures.
  • Prepare and administer oral prep if indicated.
  • Operates portable machines in various areas of the hospital.
  • Provide C-ARM services in the operating room for various orthopedic, urology, and general surgery cases.
  • Provide xray services for the orthopedic clinic on various days.
  • Proficient with PACS and EMR systems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and individually.
  • Communicates effectively with staff and patients.
  • Acts professionally and in accordance to hospital culture and values.
  • Potential for CT training depending on department needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current WA State Radiologic Technologist licensure
  • Satisfactory completion of formal technology training in an AMA approved school, registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), OR equivalent education/experience. (The X-Ray Technician Registration (XT) does not meet the requirements of this position.)
  • Recommended 1 to 2 years of experience in Xray.
