Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP): Through this New York City Department of Youth and Community Development sponsored program, CAMBA places youth ages 16 to 21 in minimum wage work experiences, and oversees their employment. Youth work for seven weeks during July and August, and placements are made in both public agencies and private non-profits. Types of work include clerical, custodial, teacher’s aides, library assistants, hospital and recreational aides. As a project sponsor since 1995, CAMBA distributes applications, conducts intake, develops jobs, and monitors employment. Position: Monitor Reports To: Program Manager Location: 21 Snyder Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11226 What The Monitor Does: Through periodic telephone calls and site visits to employment locations, assure that youth clients are working appropriately with employers. Provide conflict resolution between employers and employees, as needed. Provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports. Minimum Education/Experience Required: Current undergraduate student. Compensation: $20.00 hourly When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.
