Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Pay: $60-$77/hr

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with expertise in drawing release management, product data management (PDM), and manufacturing processes for a 6-month contract position. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering and will manage drawing releases from Fusion 360 and archive them in Arena PDM. This role focuses on creating and optimizing documentation structures, managing model releases, and supporting manufacturing and quality assurance efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the release of engineering drawings and documentation from Fusion 360 and ensure proper archival in Arena PDM, while developing necessary processes.

  • Document performance requirements, plans, test procedures, test reports, and contractual specifications to ensure designs meet business needs.

  • Review designs for cost, manufacturability, and quality assurance issues, proposing improvements where necessary.

  • Create and manage engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and manufacturing system requirements.

  • Oversee and maintain version control for model releases throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, assembly, testing, and deployment teams to ensure successful implementation of designs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or 8+ years of equivalent experience.

  • Strong experience with Fusion 360, Arena PDM or similar systems for managing design releases and documentation.

  • Expertise in mechanical design, product development, and version control.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, quality assurance standards, and cost reduction methodologies.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and quality control.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail in reviewing and managing designs.

Work Environment

Working a hybrid schedule out of their R&D facility, must be in office on Wednesdays for all-hands meetings. Offers a flexible schedule and a collaborative, small startup feel.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $77.00
