200A Senior Design Engineer

Description -

HP is developing a point of care diagnostics solution utilizing HP technology. The selected candidate for this position will work as a lead R&D designer developing the cartridge element and support the bridge between design and manufacturability.

This position will work as a key contributor focused on improving cartridge design for performance based on customer requirements; lead iterative design changes and deliver a product that is feasible and reliable. This R&D engineer will be expected to create concepts, design, and own experimentation responsibility. In addition, they will employ test development, problem solving, team leadership, and influence to deliver the required performance and manufacturability.

The key elements of this job are:

- Ensure robust product design to deliver reliability, and performance.

- Make customer-focused judgments on product design

- Troubleshoot tough system level technical issues to resolution

- Participate in teams and task forces throughout the development cycle to ensure robust products meet customer requirements

- Support system level tactical and strategic technical planning sessions and drive issues to resolution across organizational boundaries

- Document and transfer specifications, justifications, and knowledge to our manufacturing partners to assure a robust product for the whole product life cycle

- Provide technical and necessary mentoring to develop the technical capabilities of other engineers

- Process development and provide direction and guidance to improve existing processes

- Maintain Q&R compliance per organizational requirements

Experience:

- B.S. or higher, Mechanical Engineering or physical sciences degree

- 20+ years design experience

- Molded part design and manufacturability experience

- Fluid flow mechanics experience

- Able to effectively work multiple design improvements or problem resolutions simultaneously

- Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems and implement solutions

- Demonstrated ability to influence others to improve the customer experience

The base pay range for this role is $125,150 to $192,700 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
