Hendrickson is searching for a Project Engineer to join our Spring Engineering team. Your work will contribute to the success of our projects, and you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a talented group of engineers. This role is part of the Truck Commercial Vehicle Systems division in Woodridge, IL.

This individual will:

  • Manage all technical aspects of multiple and/or major projects utilizing the Product Planning and Development Procedure.
  • Designs, validates, provides test reports and sign-off documents, and ensures production readiness.
  • Coordinates with CAD, FEA and laboratory personnel and interfaces with other departments in support of the above.
  • Coordinates the technical design and test aspects on projects with suppliers and customers.
  • Provides continuous improvement through employee development, process improvement and elimination of waste.
  • Helps to assure safety in the lab and office.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in technical discipline required.
  • BSME/BSAgE/BS preferred.
  • 6+ years' experience in vehicle structural design (preferable heavy or medium duty truck) with exposure to dynamic structural analysis, finite element analysis, fatigue analysis, and product design.
  • Demonstrated product innovation.
  • Electrical or brake experience a plus.
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to meet product development deadlines.
Physical Demands of this role include:
  • Frequent sitting and working at computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional standing and walking on concrete.
  • Occasional climbing stairs and fixed/vertical ladders.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60lbs.
  • Ability to push/pull carts (minimal 25lbs) and parts (minimal 60lbs).
  • Ability to drive as required.
  • Ability to travel as required.
