Job Summary

As the Finance Manager - Process Improvement, you will report to the VP of Financial Reporting and lead efforts to transform policies and processes, focusing on enhancing the control environment. This visible leadership role within the accounting department will require you to be a subject matter expert in financial statement risk assessment and internal controls. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to document business processes, evaluate risks, and design future state solutions. Furthermore, you will partner closely with external parties, including management's consultants and external auditors.

You will

Assess financial statement risks and design solutions focused on improving efficiency, providing insights, and enhancing internal controls.

  • Perform materiality assessments for usage in financial statement risk evaluation
  • Collaborate with key process owners to build or modify business and accounting policies
  • Review business processes and identify failure points
  • Support key process owners in designing or modifying internal controls
  • Coordinate and support external auditors' review of business processes and internal controls

Develop and implement a strategy for maintaining documentation and ensuring control performance in accordance with expectations.

  • Establish a cadence for review of process and controls documentation by key process owners
  • Design strategy for monitoring of controls
  • Coordinate and support efforts to maintain documentation and ensure control performance in accordance with expectations
  • Report on improvements within key performance indicators associated with business process improvements and control implementations

You have

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, information systems, or related field
  • Master's degree in accounting or business administration is preferred
  • Active CPA license
  • 5+ years of experience in external audit with a Big 4 public accounting firm
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Highly organized, with ability to manage multiple workstreams to meet established deadlines
  • Critical thinker with a focus on process improvement and efficiency
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), SAP, Oracle, NetSuite and/or other ERP platforms (preferred)
