LOCATION: Bentley Elementary School

HOURS: 37.5 hrs weekly
Monday - Friday
8:30am - 4:30pm

JOB GOAL:

Paraprofessional will provide support physical needs, toileting, lunch support and physical management for students with IEP's.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High school graduate or equivalent.
  2. Demonstrate ability to work with parents, students and support personnel.
  3. Good communication skills.
  4. Good attendance record.
  5. Good organization skills.
  6. Ability to be self-directed.
  7. Ability to engage in problem identification and solving.
  8. Ability to maintain good rapport with staff/parents/students.
  9. Previous experience as a one-on-one paraprofessional preferred.
  10. Experience working with children with health impairments preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Works in collaboration with general and special education staff to support students with IEPs in the least restrictive environment.
  2. Functions under the guidance of special education teacher, and supports students' accommodations and modifications per their IEPs.
  3. Supports students with specific plans developed by the special education professional team.
  4. Assists the special education classroom teacher and support personnel in the implementation of health care, behavior, and instructional programming.
  5. Manages both behavioral and instructional logs. Maintains and implements data collection systems.
  6. Supports established goals and objectives for students.
  7. When applicable, operates equipment used in the special education program for the production of printed or other audio-visual instructional materials.
  8. Supervise students in the lunchroom, halls, and outside as assigned by supervisor.
  9. Bending, lifting, and overhead work required.
  10. Performs other tasks as assigned.
  11. Provides support in the areas of behavior, medical, and daily living and functional skills (i.e. toileting).

RATE OF PAY: Class IV - $18.73 per hour
