Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Perform and verify visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspection functions relating to the first article, in-process, and test operations using company or customer-supplied specifications. Inspect, test, raw materials or processed, machined, fabricated, or assembled parts or products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications. Precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment may be used during the inspection process.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- GD&T interpretation of drawing, analyzing, and interpreting blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment, and certification methods, and measuring instruments required.
- Inspect, test, or measure manufactured or final-level products for conformance to all requirements and specifications. Reject products, materials, and equipment that do not meet the requirements.
- Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products and recommend necessary corrective actions.
- Measure the dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other mechanical inspection equipment.
- Write inspection reports describing results.
- Read dials and meters to verify that equipment is functioning at specified levels.
- Set controls, start, and monitor machines that automatically measure, sort, or inspect products.
- Use numerous types of precision handheld inspection tools and instruments.
- Maintain accurate documentation, must be proficient in operation of a computer and using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to stay organized.
- Ability to multi-task with limited supervision and ability to handle frequent interruptions.
- Good communication skills while interfacing with other departments and individuals.
- Ability to maintain quality requirements while remaining efficient.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001/ AS9100, statistical process, and KAIZAN.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Associate degree (two-year college or technical school) or 1-2 years related work experience
