JOB SUMMARY

Provides quality care that is dependent on physician order or directed by the RN. Delivers nursing interventions based on professional judgment in response to individualized patient needs. Promotes restorative health and/or supportive care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
Job Summary
1. Sets up and assists with surgeries and other procedures.
2. Completes training program for procedures and clinic documentation.
3. Performs and documents suture removals
4. Prepares and administers injections including anesthesia.
5. Rooms patients timely, documenting the history and complaint for the visit.
6. Acts as providers' scribe during exams.
7. Courteously notifies patients of lab and pathology results with provider instructions.
8. Returns patient/family phone calls for providers answering questions and giving education.

• Establishes a safe, supportive work environment that promotes teamwork

B. Core Duties:
• Provides patient care by collecting, monitoring, and reporting information and responding to basic needs
• Assist with the admission process by collecting patient and family information
• Promotes patient engagement by considering specific needs, values and preferences
• Assists with discharge teaching about diagnosis, medications, and self-care skills to prevent hospital readmissions
• Accurately and completely documents patient information and nursing care in the patient's medical record
• Promotes continuity of care by reporting activities, incidences, and changing patient needs to next caregiver
• Demonstrates infection prevention behaviors, consistent hand washing and use of appropriate PPEs
• Adheres to safe medication administration while preparing, administering, documenting and monitoring meds
• Recognizes safety risk and implements prevention plan for falls, skin breakdown and injury
• Contributes to the department's performance improvement activities
• Demonstrates competency in performance of LPN clinical skills

D. Minimum Requirements: Current LPN license by the Mississippi Board of Nursing. Must be able to read, write, understand written and verbal communication.

E. Interaction Skills: Effectively communicate verbally and in writing; Ability to provide instructions and education

Job Summary

• Using supplies appropriately, demonstrating a cost-effective awareness by practicing efficient and non-wasteful use of supplies and linen.

• Participates in quality measures as indicated by performance dashboard results.
• Demonstrates appropriate quantity of work as evidenced by:
• Completing all assigned duties.

• Screen telephone calls and messages for the provider, answering questions that can be answered.
• Schedule surgeries, outpatient and diagnostic procedures, as ordered by the Physician.
• Shows proficiency with EMR systems and adheres to prescribed workflow with EMR.
• Assist Physicians with procedures and exams.
• Prescription needs as authorized by Physicians
• Completing prior authorizations and referrals.
