Job Description:

Theoris Services is assisting our client in their search for a Quality Engineer to add to their growing team located in Dyersville, Iowa. Our client seeks an individual who will be responsible for ensuring that processes are analyzed and improved, resulting in products produced that meet quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction, while ensuring adherence to procedures and processes. This individual will warrant incoming materials meet all required quality standards, as well as identify, raise, and speedily resolve quality issues to confirm zero impact to the customer. Support of new product introductions is necessary to certify the robustness of product builds.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team (e.g., internal, supplier, customer and customer warranty).
  • Identify root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product / process quality issues.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards.
  • Manage and carry out layered product and process auditing.
  • Stop production in the event of manufacture of unacceptable goods/processes.
  • Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system (ISO9001).
  • Write product test procedures and Control Plans.
  • Manage the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and first piece approval process.
  • Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), and Measurement System Analysis.
  • Lead quality audits.
Requirements:
  • ASQ Certification/ Six Sigma Greenbelt Preferred
  • Experience in highly custom manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of quality systems and measurement
  • Strong knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Knowledge of ISO9001, (Internal auditing experience a plus).
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
  • Planning and prioritizing activities.
